Instruments and modules
Instruments come in analog and, where it makes sense, digital faces. Modules have their own look and controls. Names describe the style each one is modeled after.
Flight
Section titled “Flight”- Airspeed, with the aircraft’s arcs: knots, knots and MPH, km/h, high speed
- Attitude: vacuum, electric, or with a flight director
- Altimeter: three-pointer, drum-pointer, metric
- Turn coordinator, turn and slip
- Heading indicator with its bug, and the C172’s vacuum gyro face
- Vertical speed
- Magnetic compass
- VOR / OBS head, ADF. The VOR heads test themselves when the avionics come on: the needles swing full left and right, the glideslope up and down, the flags drop in and out, then they read their receiver.
- HSI (KI 525A style), with NAV 1, NAV 2, GPS or an ADF needle
- Clock and timers: round, or M803, GT-50 and color digital styles
- GI 260-style angle of attack indicator
Engine
Section titled “Engine”- Tachometer, manifold pressure, EGT and fuel flow, manifold pressure and fuel flow in one
- Fuel quantity and pressure, oil temperature and pressure, vacuum and ammeter, voltmeter, ammeter, TIT
- Combined engine gauges, C152-style small dials, and the C172’s round engine gauges 4 in 1
- EDM 700-style and EDM 350-style engine monitors
- Lean Assist: lean slowly, see how far rich or lean of peak EGT you are
- Propeller control and cowl flaps lever
- On twins: each gauge for engine 1, engine 2 or both
Airframe
Section titled “Airframe”- Landing gear, flaps, trim
- C172-style flaps lever and trim wheel, the C172’s standing trim wheel, C182-style rudder trim wheel, Cirrus-style flaps switch
- The C172’s switch panel, its fuel selector and shutoff, and a LEFT / RIGHT / OFF fuel selector
- The Cirrus parachute (CAPS) handle
Radios
Section titled “Radios”- NAV/COM, NAV/COM 2, and both stacked in one cell
- Panel-mounted NAV/COMs and COMs in the styles of the KX 155A, KX 125, KY 197, GNC 255, GTR 225, SL30, SL40, ATR833, AR6201 and TY91
- Transponders in the styles of the GTX 345, GTX 330 and 330ES, GTX 327, KT 76C, KT 76A, TRT800, BXP6401 and TT22
- GMA 350, GMA 340, KMA 24 and C172-style audio panels
- KR 87-style ADF, KN 62A-style DME
- Annunciators and the NAV / GPS switch
Autopilot
Section titled “Autopilot”- GFC 500 and GFC 600-style autopilots, GMC 705 and GMC 707-style controllers
- KAP 140, KAP 150 and KFC 150-style autopilots
- S-TEC-style autopilot
Displays
Section titled “Displays”- NEXT navigator and flight display (The navigator, The flight display)
- G5-style flight display, PFD or HSI
- GNS 430 and GNS 530-style navigators, KLN 89B-style GPS
- G1000-style PFD, MFD and audio panel (G1000-style displays)
- x275: a GI 275-style display with its own pages, keys and knob
Stacks
Section titled “Stacks”Ready-made stacks of modules in one place: the six-pack, a NEXT avionics stack, a GNS IFR stack (audio panel, 530, 430, transponder) and a classic stack (KMA, KX, KT, KAP style).
The free avionics rack is a stack of your own: the radios, transponders, audio panels, autopilots, the annunciator strip and the GNS navigators you want, in your order (The instrument panel).
X-Plane 12’s Cessna 172
Section titled “X-Plane 12’s Cessna 172”The vacuum gyro, the GMA 340-style audio panel, the GTX 327-style transponder and the S-TEC-style autopilot are the units X-Plane 12’s Cessna 172 SP has: put them on a page to fly it with its own panel.
