Features

  • COM active (green) with the station name, standby (cyan) outlined while the knob tunes it
  • TX while transmitting on this COM, RX while receiving it
  • NAV active frequency with the station ident; ID shown while that NAV's ident audio is on
  • DME distance in magenta when the station has DME
  • Built-in CDI: four dots, a TO/FROM arrow as the needle, VOR or LOC, the OBS; a red NAV flag when there's no valid signal
  • MENU turns the knob into an OBS knob (outer 10 degrees, inner 1 degree)
  • MON key lights (display only, no simulator effect)
  • At night the faceplate, keys and knobs take the red flood light while the display keeps its own colors, dimmed; the glareshield's warm light falls on the faceplate too when its dimmer is up (Settings > Dimmers > Glareshield, off by default)
  • The display goes dark when the aircraft's avionics power is off

On the iPad

  • Drag around the dual knob: outer ring tunes MHz, inner knob tunes the channel (of COM or NAV, whichever is selected)
  • Tap the dual knob (push) to switch the knob between COM and NAV
  • Tap the COM or NAV half of the screen to pick which one the knob tunes
  • Tap the swap key (up/down arrows) to swap active and standby of what the knob tunes
  • Tap MENU (with NAV selected) to make the knob turn the OBS
  • Soft keys on the left: top selects COM, bottom selects NAV (NAV TUNE)

Settings

  • Which radio: NAV/COM 1 or NAV/COM 2 (picker variant)

Simulator data

What the Hub reads from the simulator for this instrument, and what the instrument sends back. Names are the simulators' own: MSFS SimVars and events, X-Plane datarefs and commands.

Add-on aircraft with their own systems may use other variables; the Hub reads the standard ones.

Changes

The instrument's version counts what its faces share (the case, the mechanism, the data, the sounds); a face's own version counts that face alone.
