TY91-style COM

TY91-style COM

A compact COM control head in the style of Trig's TC90 for the TY91, with a blue LCD showing active over standby. MEM browses the frequencies of the airports around and nine memories into the standby; MON shows dual watch. Comes as COM 1 or COM 2.

Features

  • LCD: the active over the standby, the step (8.33k / 25k) at the bottom right, SQ when automatic squelch is on
  • TX in reverse video while transmitting, RX while receiving; +2 while monitoring (dual watch)
  • MEM: GPS entries (each nearby airport's frequencies with ident and type) then Mem 1-9, each tuned into the standby as you browse
  • MEM held stores the active in the memory shown (or the next free one)
  • MON held opens the configuration (intercom, AUX, sidetone, squelch, 8.33 kHz, brightness) with a bar graph (display only)
  • Display dark without avionics power; dimmed at night, faceplate under the red flood light

On the iPad

  • Drag the dual knob: outer MHz, inner kHz; in MEM outer jumps airport to airport, inner steps through entries; in the configuration outer picks, inner sets
  • Push the dual knob (PUSH STEP) to toggle the 8.33 / 25 kHz indication
  • Tap the down / up arrow key to swap active and standby (leaves MEM)
  • Tap MEM to browse memories (again to leave); hold to store the active
  • Tap MON for dual watch (+2); hold for the configuration
  • Push the SQ knob to toggle automatic squelch (display only)

Settings

  • Which radio: COM 1 or COM 2 (picker variant)
  • In-unit configuration items have no simulator effect

Keys and controllers

Map any of these to a key, a game controller's button or axis, or a MIDI knob (how):

  • COM 1 channel -
  • COM 1 swap

Simulator data

What the Hub reads from the simulator for this instrument, and what the instrument sends back. Names are the simulators' own: MSFS SimVars and events, X-Plane datarefs and commands.

Changes

The instrument's version counts what its faces share (the case, the mechanism, the data, the sounds); a face's own version counts that face alone.
