Fuel quantity (C152 style)

The left and right tanks on two small rectangular dials set in a black strip, as on a C152's panel: dark gray faces with muted arcs, FUEL QTY printed across them, and long white needles under a glass reflection.

Variants

C152 stylev1.0
This instrument; it appears in the picker as the FACE variant of Fuel quantity
Picker: Fuel quantity, FACE: C152 style
Features
- Two small dials, L and R in the corner, FUEL QTY across each
- Numbers and ticks scaled to the tank size (every 10, 20 or 50 gal)
- Muted, printed-looking red, yellow and green arcs and red lines from the profile
- Needle with a soft shadow and a glass reflection over the face
- Red X over the strip when a tank value is missing or stale
- Realistic needles (Settings): spring and vibration
- Night lighting: the face takes the panel's red flood light, the glareshield's warm light from above (stronger for instruments higher on the page) and its own light, a lamp hidden at the top of the case lighting the dial downward (Settings > Dimmers: Red flood light, Glareshield, Instruments (analog))
Your aircraft: Tank range and the red low-fuel arc come from the profile. A generic profile (an aircraft the Hub doesn't know) gets wide default scales with no bands or red lines.
On the iPad
- No knobs: a tap asks to change the instrument
Settings
- Global: Realistic needles
Simulator data
What the Hub reads from the simulator for this instrument, and what the instrument sends back. Names are the simulators' own: MSFS SimVars and events, X-Plane datarefs and commands.
Reads
| Value | MSFS | X-Plane |
|---|---|---|
| Left main tank quantity (gal) | FUEL TANK LEFT MAIN QUANTITY (gallons) | sim/cockpit2/fuel/fuel_quantity[0] |
| Right main tank quantity (gal) | FUEL TANK RIGHT MAIN QUANTITY (gallons) | sim/cockpit2/fuel/fuel_quantity[1] |
Add-on aircraft with their own systems may use other variables; the Hub reads the standard ones.
Changes
The instrument's version counts what its faces share (the case, the mechanism, the data, the sounds); a face's own version counts that face alone.
